Safety protection: The elevator power lock can prevent unauthorized personnel from arbitrarily turning on the elevator power supply, avoiding safety accidents caused by the misoperation of the elevator by non-professionals. For example, during the maintenance of the elevator, maintenance personnel can cut off the elevator power supply through the power lock to ensure that they will not be injured due to the accidental start of the elevator during the inspection.
Convenient management: For property management companies or elevator users, the power lock is convenient for managing the operating time of the elevator. For instance, some office buildings can turn off the elevator power supply through the power lock during non-business hours, saving electricity and also preventing unrelated personnel from using the elevator during non-working hours.
Control of circuit on and off: In terms of circuit principles, the elevator power lock is actually a switching element, which is connected in series in the main power circuit of the elevator. When the power lock is in the "on" state, the circuit is connected, and the current can pass smoothly, providing power for various systems of the elevator, such as the traction machine, control system, lighting system, etc., enabling the elevator to operate normally. When the power lock is in the "off" state, the circuit is disconnected, cutting off the power supply of the elevator, and the elevator stops running.
The elevator power lock is generally installed in the elevator car operation box or the power control cabinet in the elevator machine room. Its operation mode is usually key-operated, and some also use methods such as password or card swiping for unlocking operations.
